Настав час поділитися фінішнім виглядом Червонюхи номер 2. Як ви можете нижче прочитати, я розпочала роботу над цією серветкою ще до повномаштабного вторгнення і завершила її вже в другій частині останнього року. Яскравий червоний колір, густо положенні червоні хрестики, додаток чорної нитки набрали нове значіння і новий симболізм в моїх очах. Переспівувалися в думках жалібні стрічки про раненого бійця. Проєкт який розпочався як гра кольорів набрав тверезу якість. Все ж таки, ця яскрава серветка захоплює своєю яскравістю!

Це перший проєкт який я виготувала до продажу. Так – ця серветка може прикрашати стіл чи скриню у вашому домі. Уявіть собі, як би це виглядало! Або, можете подарувати улюбленій чи рідній вам людині… велика частина зібраних коштів попрямує швидко в Україну, на підтримку наших захисників і захисниць і тих які виконоють гуманітарну роботу. It’s time to share with you the final appearance of Big Red #2. As you can read below, I started embroidering this servetka before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. I finished working on it in the second half of last year. The vivid red colour, densely packed red crosses and black detail took on a whole new meaning and symbolism in my eyes. The mournful words from a song about a wounded soldier repeated themselves over in my mind. A project which started as an experiment in colour play took on a sober quality. Still, this servetka is energized and captivating.

This is the first project I’ve made with the intention of offering it for sale. Yes, this servetka could be decorating a side table or chest in your own home. Imagine how lovely that could look! Or you could gift it to a person dear or beloved… a large proportion of the sale price will be directed ASAP to Ukraine to support our women and men fighting on the front lines and those performing important humanitarian work. Взір Червонюхи номер 2 гуцульський і походить із книжки Ксенії Колотило INSPIRATIONS, в якій він знаходеться в лініярній формі. Адаптовання потребувало оформлення кута. Як бачите, оригінал використовує традиційні кольори до хрестикової вишивки – червоний, чорний, жовтий і зелений кольори. Але ж стало дуже ясно, в процесі вишиття, що до такого яскравого червоного кольору, підібрати зелений доведе до переважаючого ефекту. Тому, додаткові кольори стали засмага і димчастий синій.

The design for Big Red #2 is Hutsul and comes from a book by Xenia Kolotylo INSPIRATIONS, in which it appears in a linear form. Adapting it to a servetka involved turning a corner. As you can see, the original design uses colours that are very traditional for cross stitch embroidery – red, black, green and yellow. However, it became very clear during the process of making this embroidery, that choosing a green to accompany such a bright red would lead to an overwhelming effect. Therefore, the additional colours became a tan and a smokey blue.

Дорогі друзі, ділюся з Вами найновішим виглядом Червонюхи номер 2. Злилася червона нитка – сьогодні нарешті закінчила вишивати ВСІ червоні хрестики, і при тому завершила вишиття цієї сервети. Залишається тепер підшити крайок. Розмір сервети, якщо мір’яти тільки по вишивці, 64 см (25 дюйм), а ширина самого вишиття на ній 25 см (5 дюйм).

От, і я навчилася нове слово – дюйма. Якщо це не так я його зужила, будь ласка поправте.

I’m very happy to share with you the latest look of my Big Red #2. Today, I’ve finished embroidering all of the red crosses and with that, all of the embroidery for this piece is finished. Now, I need to do the edging. In all, if measured by the embroidery alone, the width of this piece is 64 cm (25 inches) and the depth of the embroidery 25 cm (5 inches).

От, моя Червонюшка номер 2 зараз виглядає так:

Сьогондні зранку закінчила вишивати золотою і синьою нитками. Далі ще трохи роботи, поповнити взір червоною.

This is where Big Reg #2 is at at the moment: today, I’ve finished adding the tan and blue threads. There’s still a bit of work to do with another sweep of red to fill the design.

Прогрес Червонюхи номер 2 – Українська червона кров тече рікою.

Уся чорна нитка завершина, а далі підуть додаткові кольори.

Як усім, мені Україна і українці зараз постійно на думці. Така біль у серці, що здається немає як витримати. Дивлюся на цю серветку, і приходять мені на думку слова: “З грудей червона кров текла рікою…”

In the progress of this embroidery, I’ve finished all of the black stitching and the next step will be to add two other colours.

Like everyone at the moment, I am thinking about Ukraine and Ukrainians 24/7 and it hurts my heart so much. Anyway, I keep looking at this servetka and thinking of words from a song that has hit me in the chest since I was a child, about the bleeding wound of a fallen soldier.
