STARS BOOKMARKS

This was an opportunity for colour play and to use some off-cut fabric (25 count Floba) from my most recent large project, GENERATIONS RUSHNYK ~ ПОКІЛІННЯ РУШНИК.

The design comes from the Kyiv region and is found in my source of great inspiration, Ukrainian Embroideries by Maria Kutsenko INSPIRATIONS.

Fabric: 25 count Floba. Threads: DMC stranded cotton, used in three strands, shades 3848 and 3849.

These images were used in the post on The Value of Graphing and show the original design, my initial graphing and the first version of this bookmark, done in DMC colours 3847 (the darker) and 3848 (the lighter of the two shades).

A bunch of thread bundles came out as potential colour combinations.

Blue shades: DMC 311 (the darker) and 517 (the lighter shade)
Orange shades DMC 920 ( the darker) and DMC 922 (the lighter shade); red shades DMC 347 (the darker) and 3328 (the lighter shade)

This beautiful creamy brick DMC 3831 (the darker) and 3832 (the lighter shade)
